Every history has a point of origin
He traveled from Mexico to the United States looking for his way and returned with a vision: to create something, even if it was small, but that was his own. That is how the group of companies with international presence known as Grupo Gonher was born.

In 1953, when the city of Monterrey was still young and the automotive industry was in full development, a visionary man named José C. González put his soul and dedication into making a dream come true; little did he imagine that this great effort would gradually accelerate to become the powerful engine that would drive the Monterrey industry and give rise to what today is an international group, leader in the auto parts industry, known as Grupo Gonher.
In a small workshop located on Aramberri Street in downtown Nuevo Leon’s capital city, Don Jose, together with a team of six people, started the production of Gonher de Mexico; at that time the small workshop of 100 square meters only manufactured 4 types of automotive filters.
Six years later, thanks to the effort and dedication of Don José and his team, the company acquired new machines and began its expansion, first to 1,500 m2 and then to 3,000 m2, which allowed them to incorporate the first research laboratory.

At the same time that the production was automated with the implementation of lines and the self-sufficiency in the filter components was assumed, Gonher reached a new achievement. During the 60’s, what would become the headquarters of the company for a little more than a decade, was inaugurated located in the Félix U. Gómez Avenue in downtown Monterrey. The first Gonher factory in Mexico was born.

With the decade of the 70s came new challenges; responding to the growing demand for auto parts, in 1971 the construction of the Filtros Gonher plant in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon began. Here, to the production of fuel and air filters already established, the modernization of the plant is added with automatic die-cutting machines. At that time, Gonher already had 18 distributors to attend to its customers.

In the last decade of the 20th century, Grupo Gonher diversified its production and ventured into new markets, in addition to obtaining the international certification QS-9000/ISO-9002, opening the doors to its commercial globalization.

When the 21st century begins, Grupo Gonher seeks to reinvent itself and acquires Mighty Auto Parts, a North American company dedicated to the commercialization of auto parts, opening the way to conquer the American market; in addition, it creates Pro One, the largest chain of auto parts stores in Mexico.
At the moment, the Group has 36 distributors, more than 3,000 employees nationwide, and produces more than 700 types of filters, and not only that, but it also continues to maintain its commitment to satisfy the total needs of the market.

In 2023, Grupo Gonher was recognized -for the eleventh consecutive year- with the ESR (Socially Responsible Company) distinction, by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility in Mexico (AliaRSE). Today, Gonher is synonymous with quality and remains a solid group, a leader in the auto parts market, contributing with dedication and effort to the progress of Mexico.
